LOVELY VILLA WITH GREAT LOCATION.
Villa Hayche is a lovely villa, with views of the hills, the sea and banana groves.
The bedrooms are a good size, with plenty of storage space. Each has its' own bathroom (with powerful showers). There is also a safe in the main bedroom.
The mattresses and some of the pillows in the twin rooms are not very comfortable and could do with replacing.
All the bedrooms have air conditioning, but it is on a two hour timer. We did struggle with this for the first few nights, and kept getting up and putting it back on. Eventually we acclimatised. We understand timers are used in Cyprus because the Power station is being rebuilt following an explosion, and it is expensive to run ac units.
The kitchen and living area is modern and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped (the best I’ve seen in a villa on holiday). Also the welcome pack of bread and water etc was very useful.
There are two fans in the kitchen and living area as stated, the air conditioning shown in the photos has been disconnected. We found by opening the front and back doors a breeze from the front of the house cooled the living room down.
The whole villa is thoroughly clean (minor point the grout in the bathrooms could do with a bit of attention).
The pool is an excellent size with a shallow end for younger children, and a deeper end for diving. There is a storage box at the side of the garden with lilos and other inflatables. There is plenty of places to sunbathe or sit, and areas in the shade. We used the shaded eating area many times.
It is a ten minute walk to the Coral Bay Strip where there are lots of restaurants (we personally recommend 'Andria'), bars, souvenir shops, and taxis.
It is a fifteen minute walk to Coral Bay beach, which is a beautiful sandy beach ideal for families, with a cafe, toilet and shower facilities, sun loungers and water sports activities.
It is a 5 minute walk (across fields, otherwise 10 minutes by path) to the large Phillipos supermarket, and if you spend over 50 euros they will taxi you and your shopping back to the villa.
Paul and Kristina, responsible for maintenance and cleaning, are very friendly and helpful (Paul quickly checked the pool when our children's skin looked a little green, it appears if you use a SPF 50 and stay in a warm pool for a long time this can happen, thankfully it washed off).
Chris Christou, who manages the property, is fantastic, he is friendly, super-efficient and quickly answered all our questions.
Date of arrival 21 July 2018.
